Sun Nepal Life CEO Aryal Resumes Duties

Rajkumar Aryal, chief executive officer of Sun Nepal Life Insurance, has resumed his regular duties effective Aug. 7, the company said.

The insurer notified the Nepal Stock Exchange that its board, at a meeting on Aug. 6, decided to reinstate Aryal in his regular role.

Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau arrested Aryal on March 30 as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the allocation of shares reserved for employees. He was released on April 5 after investigators found no wrongdoing, according to the company.

During Aryal’s absence, Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer Kabi Phuyal served as acting CEO from April 6 and oversaw the company’s management.
