Govt Accepts Swiss, Chinese Grants

The Swiss support totals 6.116 million Swiss francs for the Municipal Revenue Enhancement Project, while the Chinese grant totals 79.36 million yuan for the maintenance and improvement of the Araniko Highway

The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, May 19, decided to accept a grant of 6.116 million Swiss francs (approximately Rs 1.19 billion) from Switzerland for the Municipal Revenue Enhancement Project, and a Chinese grant of 79.36 million yuan (approximately Rs 1.8 billion) for the maintenance and improvement of the Araniko Highway.

The meeting also approved the Accreditation Regulations, 2083, and the Military Service (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2083, according to government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel.

In addition, the Cabinet endorsed a proposal to table an amendment bill to the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 in the Federal Parliament.

The meeting also approved the adjustment and assignment of secretaries under the Government of Nepal’s Work Division Regulations, 2083.
