The North Face has announced “Mountain Quest” in Nepal as part of its regional celebration of International Everest Day 2026, combining adventure sports, environmental awareness and mountaineering culture through a series of Himalayan-themed events.
The initiative is part of the company’s Spring/Summer 2026 campaign, “Never Just a Hike”, and includes trekking, community engagement and conservation-focused activities in Nepal.
As part of the programme, 11 explorers from across the Asia-Pacific region embarked on a trek to Annapurna Base Camp, one of Nepal’s best-known trekking destinations, according to a statement issued by the company.
The company said the expedition was aimed at promoting outdoor culture, endurance and exploration while highlighting Nepal’s connection to the Himalayas.
The celebrations will continue in Kathmandu on May 29 – International Everest Day – with an event at Gokarna Forest Resort featuring sports activities, storytelling sessions and community engagement programmes.
A major highlight of the event will be Nepal’s first night trail run, which will take place along the forest trails of Gokarna. Organisers said the run symbolises resilience, endurance and the spirit of exploration inspired by Mount Everest and the wider Himalayan landscape.
The 7.5-kilometre race will feature Elite and Regular categories, with the registration fee for both categories fixed at Rs 1,000.
According to the organisers, winners in the Elite category, both male and female, will receive cash prizes of $200 for first place, $150 for runner-up and $100 for second runner-up, subject to a 25 percent tax deduction at source.
Participants in the Regular category will receive T-shirts, race bibs, medals and certificates of participation. Organisers said T-shirts will be distributed to the first 400 participants.
The company also announced that it will donate $5 to the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee for every completed run in support of the Everest Clean Up Project.
The programme will also include a product donation ceremony and a panel discussion on adventure and mountain stewardship.
According to the organisers, the discussion will focus on the theme “Heroes vs. Unsung Heroes” and feature The North Face global athletes Dawa Yangzum Sherpa and Conrad Anker, along with other invited climbers and outdoor experts.
The organisers said “Mountain Quest” aims to create a shared regional platform for outdoor enthusiasts across the Asia-Pacific region while promoting responsible mountain tourism and environmental awareness in Nepal.
