Nepali entrepreneur Bhupendra Khanal appeared on the red carpet at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival alongside his wife and business partner Sneh Khanal, marking a rare appearance by a Nepali entrepreneur at one of the world’s most prominent film and cultural events.

The couple are founders of premium dog treat brand Dogsee Chew. The company said on Saturday, May 16, that they used the global platform to promote pet care, wellness and natural pet nutrition.

Bhupendra Khanal, originally from Urlabari in Morang district, is also the founder of social media analytics company Simplify360. Dogsee Chew, headquartered in Bengaluru, India, was established in 2015 and produces Himalayan yak milk-based dog chews inspired by traditional chhurpi.

The couple drew attention for incorporating Nepali and Indian cultural elements into their attire, including embroidery inspired by their golden retriever, Mowgli, which they say motivated them to launch the pet nutrition brand.

“The world is waking up to what pet parents have always known. Pets are family, and they deserve the very best,” Bhupendra Khanal said in a statement released by the company. “At Dogsee, that belief has driven every product we have built and every market we have entered. Cannes is where we take that story to the world, and we are just getting started.”

Sneh Khanal described the Cannes appearance as symbolic of the growing global focus on pet wellness and premium pet nutrition.

“Cannes is where the world's most compelling stories find their audience,” she said. “Dogsee began with a bold belief that pets deserve better, and ten years later, that belief has brought us to the red carpet at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.”

According to the company, Dogsee products are now available in more than 30 countries.

The couple joined a small group of Nepalis who have appeared at the Cannes red carpet in recent years, including actors Surakshya Panta and Pradeep Khadka, as well as Prime Minister Balendra Shah during his tenure as mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
