The government has approved the policies and programs for the upcoming fiscal year.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday endorsed the address to be delivered by President Ramchandra Paudel at the joint session of both houses of the Federal Parliament. The President is scheduled to present the government’s policies and programs at 4 p.m. on Monday, in line with Article 95 of the Constitution of Nepal.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel, informed that the Cabinet has formally approved the President’s address as required by the Constitution.
The policies and programs form the basis for the upcoming national budget. The National Revenue Estimation Committee has fixed the budget ceiling at Rs 1,890 billion, within which ministries have been instructed to prepare their plans. As per constitutional provision, Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle will unveil the new budget on May 29. -- RSS
