Nepal has made its first-ever private sector participation at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, marking a significant step toward investment-led growth and deeper economic engagement with the United States.
The summit, held in Maryland, brought together global investors, business leaders, government officials and economic development agencies, the American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal) said in a statement earlier this week. Nepali companies are participating in discussions on market access, strategic partnerships and long-term investment opportunities.
According to organisers, the participation reflects Nepal’s growing emphasis on trade-led cooperation and stronger private sector collaboration with the United States.

During engagements with officials from the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Commerce, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral economic relations through trade and investment cooperation.
At an embassy event, Bethany P. Morrison, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the US Department of State, highlighted growing momentum in Nepal-US relations following recent high-level exchanges. She also underscored the United States’ interest in supporting a conducive business environment and private sector growth in Nepal.
Welcoming the delegation, Sharad Raj Aran, Chief Deputy Ambassador of Nepal to the United States, expressed confidence in the capabilities and global outlook of Nepali enterprises.
Discussions with US officials, including Jon Seo, Deputy Director at the US Department of Commerce, focused on expanding commercial engagement and facilitating smoother market entry for Nepali businesses.
Kailash Bijayananda, Chairperson of AmCham Nepal, said participation at the summit would help Nepali companies become more globally competitive. He also acknowledged recent policy reforms introduced by the Government of Nepal in the ICT sector.

The Nepali delegation includes five ICT companies — Biz Serve, Swift Fin, Codavatar, Green Tick and Event Mo — which are presenting their expansion plans and highlighting Nepal’s growing capabilities in innovation and skilled digital talent.
The initiative has been coordinated by AmCham Nepal and led by its Executive Director Amir Thapa. Organisers said the participation reflects Nepal’s increasing readiness to engage global markets and positions the private sector as a key driver of bilateral economic growth.
