Jaecoo’s J6T hits Nepali Roads

Jaecoo replaces its first Nepal model with an upgraded electric SUV, adding range, ground clearance, and a stronger feature set.

SPG Automobiles, the authorized distributor of Jaecoo in Nepal, has launched the updated model of its popular electric SUV - the Jaecoo J6.

The company unveiled the Jaecoo J6T on March 23. According to the company, it replaces the J6 and marks an upgrade in the brand’s lineup in Nepal.

According to the company, the J6T comes with a refreshed name and a more refined package focused on performance, comfort, and usability. It is Jaecoo’s third offering in Nepal, following the J6 in 2024 and the J5 SUV in 2025, following the brand’s global debut in 2023.

Priced at Rs 6.89 million, the J6T is being offered with a launch discount of Rs 200,000. This brings the price down to Rs 6.69 million. In terms of size, the J6T sits in the compact SUV segment. It is 4,433 mm long, 1,916 mm wide, and 1,741 mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. A key upgrade is the increased ground clearance of 225 mm, up from 200 mm in the previous model. It comes with 19-inch wheels. With a 27-degree approach angle and a 31-degree departure angle, the car is better suited for rough roads and light off-road use.

The SUV is powered by a rear-wheel-drive electric motor producing 135 kW and 220 Nm of torque, paired with a 65.69 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery supplied by CATL. The J6T offers a claimed range of 431 km on a single charge. It supports DC fast charging of up to 130 kW and AC charging at 6.6 kW via a CCS2 interface.

The J6T can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 10.5 seconds, with a top speed of 150 km per hour. Inside, the J6T features a cabin that includes a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster. It also has a wireless charging pad and an eight-speaker sound system. Similarly, comfort features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seats, and dual-zone climate control. These features position the model in the premium end of the mid-size EV segment.

On the safety front, the SUV comes equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, vehicle stability control, and front and rear parking sensors. It also offers Level 2 advanced driver assistance features based on a camera system, along with an electric parking brake. LED lighting is used throughout the vehicle, and a rear-door storage compartment adds practicality.

The J6T is available in five color options: Urban Grey, Platinum Silver, Arctic White, Night Black, and Tornado Red. The model targets buyers looking for an electric SUV that can handle both city roads and rougher terrain.

With the J6T, Jaecoo is strengthening its position in Nepal’s growing EV market, offering more range, better ground clearance, and advanced features.
